If that 350,000 yen / month is the only income you get, it's gonna be really hard because tax here is really high. It's better to calculate as "how much you earn per month after tax" naka.
For example, my bf earns 1,000,000 yen a month. After tax (tax, nenkin, blah blah), he has 600,000 - 700,000 yen left. After the house loan, he has 400,000 yen left which is kinda normal to live but can't spend too much because then there will be no saving.
For myself, I am a scholarship student. I don't have to pay tax. I have 155,000 yen/ month for my allowance. I have to say that I barely make it at the end of the month. That's why I also have to work. My scholarship + salary after tax, I get more than 200,000 yen but less than 300,000 yen then it's enough for me.However I live alone naka.
