Khun ธนิตา, I am just wondering if what I said in this thread was not just a regular complaint, what should it be called? I didnt include every single detail at first because that was not actually my main purpose of posting my story. I just wanted people to be more careful with their insurance policies, so that they wont have to pay for unnecessary things like I did for the stitch removal.
For your questions:
1. I just have learned from this incident that doctors working in the emergency department of an in-network hosplitals are not necessarily in-network as well.
2. I dont mind that medical students gave me the stitch and dont think the doctor has to be the one doing a small job like giving one stitch. However, given the situation I was in (no other patients present in the ER), the doctor should at least have been observing throughout the operation. Nevertheless, the doctor is getting the full payment. This is like I am paying a full-time payment for a part-time worker. Dont you think?
3. The $858 is totally going to the doctor. The medical expenses for the ER is another $400 something which was covered 100% by the insurance. Dont you think this $858 is somewhat outrageaously high comparing to a bus driver that has to be responsible for passengers' lives and get only $15.50/hour (San Diego bus driver)?
Finally, the embassy is already switching to another company Aetna.
