I still remember that day clearly. I was at school in South America and a friend ran to me and said, "World War III is here".
Everything seemed unreal.. but it really happened. We all watched TV and I started to cry. I was very worried about my friends who were doing their exchange year there. I didn't know what exactly happened. All I heard was that America was under attacked. Luckily, they were all okay. However, the father of a girl from my school wasn't lucky. He worked in the north building.. and they couldn't locate him. The girl's story was a big shock to everyone. It turned out her daddy was the only missing Chilean. We all prayed for him and donated some money, hoping she could go to the states to look for him. Eventually, one national TV station helped her out and she had a chance to fly to manhattan a week after that. All she wanted was just to see her daddy, dead or alive.
I can't believe it's been 8 years and I haven't heard about her daddy's story since. However, I hope she finally reunited with her daddy, even it's just his body.. because being disappeared from someone's life is worse than passing away.
