History is a disciplline in science, thus, it should be based on proven truth. Although, most of "history" has been predominated by political motivations and/or victors. Therefore, it's possible that some stories were overstated or fabricated while some shameful stories were hidden or obliterated. But, I don't think that, as a nation, people would learn anything from such version. At the end of the day, it will bring that nation into a bigotry, nationalistic idea/philosophy.
Ones can be proud of the past, but being too proud is not a good idea, particularly that history is based on a flawed knowledge (or lie). In addition, learning from previous mistakes is always a better approach in learning, in my opinions.

P.S. I have not seen any mind-challenging thread in Klaibann for a long time. So, thanks for bringing this issue up krub.
