Tax free allowance £6,475.00/annum £539.58/month £124.52/week
So long as you don't earn more than £6,475.00/annum or £539.58/month or £124.52/per week, you do not have to pay tax.
Whenever you earn more than the tax free allowance you will be taxed.
And you start paying National Insurance contribution when you earn £110 and more.

Can I work an average of 20 hours a week?
No. If you work more than 20 hours in any week in term-time (and you are not doing a work placement for your course or an internship), you are in breach of your immigration conditions, even if you work under 20 hours in other weeks.
