Most of Backpacker Hostel will have all the facilities, like kitchen, toilet, living room or TV to share together. The price that you told already include other expenses. You just paid 100$ per week and you will get 200$ back when you leave the place if you haven't done any damages to the place.
TFN must be obtained before working otherwise you wont' be able to get employment legally. I think you need to show some sort of documents to prove you are living in Australia and your identity, like driving card, statement from the bank or any letters to show your name and your address.
No need to bring any Thai food, you can buy it here.
I think you should prepare about 10$ per day for eating but you have to cook rather than eating out. Noodle soup here will cost you like 12$. A cup of coffee is 3$. A bus ticket for one trip will cost you like 4-5$. Nothing cheap but it matches to the cost of living.
Internet, it depends on your ISP and program you choose.
Public library is very good, free. You can learn English, use free internet and so on.
Try not to work in Thai restaurants, I've heard that they take a lot of advantages from Thai workers.
Hope this info will help you abit
