I think you have to read the books, especially signs, as the fact that you didn't drive in Thailand, it will be too difficult to do the guess work.
Read and practice, several times, I know they are a lot and it is quite difficult but you have to do it otherwise you failed and it is really wasted of time and money.
If your husband drives, just jump in the front seat, ask him to do the drive while you are observing the road signs, lines, what to do when you are approaching roundabout, zebra crossing etc. This might help you a bit in terms of seeing it and knowing what it is and how to react rather than just read from the book.
About hazard, you must try to put yourself behind the wheel, just imagine that, as a driver, what will become the "hazard", for example, cyclist, pedestrians, car made the u-turn etc. When you see it, just click at the right time, otherwise you won't get a mark.
