Why do you still need "the Ind leave to remain visa" on your old Thai passport?
Do as you wish BUT you do not have to carry the old Thai passport when you have British passport, neither do you need to use British passport to enter Thailand with.
Remember this, as a dual Thai-UK citizen (or other combination):-
At check-in desk: use either Thai or British passport when flying back to Thailand.
At immigration when entering and leaving UK: use British passport, ALWAYS.
When:
Entering Thailand: use Thai passport. You are a Thai citizen, after all.
Leaving Thailand:
At check-in desk: use Thai passport and show British one to show your rights to enter UK.
At immigration: use Thai passport ONLY, always.
