Back when the US was rising as an industrial power and immigrants were flocking to its shores, the belief of the "American Dream" at that time was that if you work hard, you will achieve. As time went on, most saw it for what it was: a lie that was popularized to keep the poor pacified. In truth, the real dream is to pursue what you want and to *use what you have to your advantage*. You should never look at your situation as a prison. Instead, see what you have and learn how to use it to get to the next level. If you work, don't look at your work as a source of income for your survival. Instead, see it as a chance to gain experience and knowledge so that you can progress yourself to the next level or, eventually, to even control a business yourself. For studying, see your classes as an opportunity to move beyond what you are learning into something greater.
So, is it true that a rich person has more opportunities? Yes. They were given them through the birthright granted by their parents. But that does not in any way make them a fiercer competitor or better person. If you use what you have, refuse to sulk, and just generally kick ass, then these people are irrelevant to you. Stop focusing on them and start focusing on how you will just become the best you can be. Also, studying abroad does not equate success. Innovation and charisma are what dictate your destiny. Be creative, be new, be social, and you can get far.
