Agree with comment # 9, am working with a government agency here in Victoria in accounting field and I can say that it's really very very difficult to get a perm job here. It took me 2 and a half you to get this position, before that I worked part time works.
In term of experiences, mostly yes, experiences in Thailand won't be counted but if you have experiences and skills in the fields that is/are highly needed by a company/companies here, you might be lucky. Otherwise, it's hard. Just imagine this, there's new local graduates every year in this field, all of them speak fluent english hence, how would you be competing with them if your skills and experiences are not outstanding and in high demand.
If I were you, I'll be remaining in my existing work. Good point is you'll have your close friends and family close to you and you still can be proud of your work and be respected by people around you. But if you come here you have to be on your own and start it all over. However, nothing wrong with giving it a try if you wish and hope you can find a good job here.
