Firstly, I apologize for an incoming wall of English text, I'm currently using company's laptop and thus cannot type in Thai. If you are a fighter who enjoys being out of your comfort zone, come to Canada. As long as you are a hard-working person, proficient in English and do not mind being mobilized, we have TONS of jobs for you here. I mean, our team constantly looks for more manpower. We are constantly rewarded with more work packages. It seems we will never be able to man up to our desired manpower.
Do not let others tell you otherwise, there are TONS of jobs in Canada, and it will only grows rapidly in the next few years, especially in energy and construction industry. When I say there are TONs of jobs, i mean it. If you are not picky, that is. The most important attribute you need to find a job, other than English, is the ability to mobilize. Many jobs are in remote locations, some are completely isolated, some are near a small town, and oftentimes requires traveling to work and staying in the company accommodations, which will all be paid for. The duration of the shift varies from sites to sites. Mine is 9 days on the job and 5 days off, which is perfect! I spend $0 18 days a month. Your travel expense is reimbursable. Some company even provide flights for you to fly to and from the site every shift.
I can afford to go for a short trip with my love ones every two weeks, yet, able to save more than $3000 every month. And I am among the lowest earning in the industry. There is nowhere else to go but upwards.
Ever heard of the saying "You are as capable as whom you believe you are?" If you believe you can do it, you can do it. Some believes they need connection to land themselves a job, which is true to certain extent, but i beg to differ.
All you need is a positive attitude, persistent, and determination. With those three, you will get yourself connections AND job(S). I mean, i came to this country all by myself, no family member, relatives, nobody. I knew 0 person total when i landed in Vancouver. I've been through countless shitty jobs, please excuse my language, good times, bad times, but I don't give up. Many friends of mine tend to give up after a while and flew back to their countries where they have their warm beds to sleep in and someone to comfort, so they can spread sour words about how it is so hard to find a job in Canada.
I just felt like if I went back I would be a quitter. And I'm not a quitter. I stick around. If there's no jobs in the city, I move. Wherever people say there are jobs, I go there. And let me tell you this, I was constantly able to find something to do. I did whatever pays the bills. I pushed through with a minimum wage part-time job for a year. Boy was it a shitty long year to live through. But positive attitude got me a long way.
If you see yourself as an outsider, you are an outsider to them. But if you see yourself fitting in perfectly, you fit in with them perfectly. I mean, I am one of 6 or 7 Asian employees here where there are at least a thousand non-Asian personnel. But to me, I am just one capable guy who is able to do the job well, I kiss and hug my love ones the same way other people do. My ethnic group does not interfere how I work nor how I socialize. And to tell you the truth, nobody gives a cent about your race anyway. That stuff gets old.
Enough about my story, I don't want to put you all to sleep. But in summary;
-There are TONS of jobs here, countless opportunities, but you have to be quite a fighter
-Be agile, able to mobilize. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone
-POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
