Hi all,
I do agree with K.Bostonian. Indeed, the demand for graduates in this field has been increasing dramatically, espcially in developing countries. As K.Bostonian said, not only you (or we) can find a job in government agencies, but also in private sector, NGOs, and IGOs (International Governmental Organizations) like the World Bank, ADB, and the UN and its agencies.
If we look at the demand of development practitioners/policymakers/analysts in the next 5 years or so, I am positively confident that this field will gain more popularty among Thai people. In fact, I acknowledge that Thammasat has already started the gender and development program (not sure which faculty). In addition, the Faculty of Political Science at TU is now developing its policy analysis course (not sure if it's for undergraduate or graduate level).
Think globally, act locally.
Luck Luck Luck,
P.S. Thanks K.Bontonian for the comment above. Does K.Bostonian study in this field? =)
Also I have a question. Which org is better to start my career, the World Bank (JPA program), Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), or TDRI? Thanks in advance for every comment, shared experience, and suggestion.
