Credit history is very important in living in USA.You need to have a credit in order to rent a house, buy a car, buy a house or even a cell phone. There are basicly 5 factors considered to make up your credit score, which are Payment history, Amounts owed, Length of credit history, Type of credit use, New credit. They are actually the same things as K. Lucy stated earlier. You now can tell that it takes time to build up up your credit. I've been here for 3 years and I've been working with a mortgage company here for a year after I graduated. Therefore, I kinda know a lot about this issue. If you have any questions regarding those factors, feel free to email me. The better score you have, the better possible rate you can get. In mortgage industry, they based on a FICO score, the middle score from 3 credit beuros. But actually, for K.Noo+Fah, there is a trick though. If you have a friend or relative here, you can use his credit to buy a house and put your name in the title of the house. By this way, your friend will assume the loan but you will own the house. And If you make a payment on time, his credit score will go up. Whenever you have your own credit, you can re-fi and loan it yourself. But if you can pay cash, don't worry about credit or anything. I hope it helps. noi (namonn@hotmail.com)
