If you have schenken visa, then you can visit Switzerland for 30 days. I would suggest you to come to Basel (hehehe as I live in Basel)....walk a bit in the city center...see the houses, old buildings.... but there is nothing more than that except museums. If you are museum lovers, then Basel is ideal place....there are more than 30 museums here but quite small. For me, I would suggest: www.tinguely.ch and www.puppenhausmuseum.ch The other museums are not so impressive for me. I visited Geneva once but there are too much shops there....not my type....just to remind you that all shops close on Sunday and open until 5pm on Saturday (6:30pm on weekdays) And Geneva is quite away from center area of Switzerland. From Basel, you can take an hour train to Zurich or Bern or Luzern. Then Bern to Zurich or vice versa is also about an hour. I would recommend Zurich and Bern. I'm not so sure about time but it would be around 1-1.30 hours max. You can check train time on www.sbb.ch (sadly it's in German, French, and Italy) On the left side, you'll see Online-Fahrplan...von = from which city; nach = go to where; Datum = date; zeit = time (Abfahrt = time you want to leave, Ankunft = time you want to arrive there) Note that the train ticket is extremely expensive; for example, from Basel to Zurich round trip would be somewhere around 60 CHF. Spending in Switzerland is quite high...McDonald menu here cost about 10-11 CHF for small menu. The cheapest price of 5dl coke here is 0.95 in small shop but in restaurant would cost around 3-4 CHF. I would suggest you book hotel online so you have more chance to find cheap one.
For 3-4 days, I would suggust: fly to Basel...have a walk in a town, then leave to Bern (min 1.07 hrs -max 1.40 hrs in train)in afternoon or evening and stay a night there.
Then spend a day in Bern and then go to Zurich (about 1-1.30 hrs) and stay there overnight (in Bern, there's lot of nice place: government house, chapel, fountains, Einstein museum,...)
Then fron Zurich to Luzern (less than hour travel in train) In luzern, like comment above....an important bridge and a very big museum called Verkehrsmuseum - worth to see....and yes the big Lion (must to see :D)
So 1/2 day in Basel, 1 day in Zurich, 1 day in Bern and 1-2 days in Luzern. The best is go to sbb.ch and plan ahead the time you want to take the train..I think it's very important to manage you time well so you can make the best use of your time to see most places.
