A sound advice from คนอุดรฯ, I totally forgot about the 'sfc' command. Use it only once or twice a couple of years ago, good of you to remind me about it.
Recently there's a kind of virus/worm or whatever, not related to this topic, which randomly destroys (deletes) a large number of files in directories within program files. I don't know exactly what casued this as when I got the computers, in one week 2 machines were infected, the owners had already run the anti-virus program to kill it and it caused a havoc to the whole system. On one machine I managed to stabilise it by re-running anti-virus program along with some anti-spyware programs, cleanning the registry etc,. The other was beyond any kind of remedies but to reformat and re-install Windows.
Just wondering if you have come across it in a last few weeks.
Perhaps it was only isolated incidences and only happened in Egypt.
