    Econ PhD in the States

    I am thinking of applying to do a PhD in Economics at the following u's: Berkeley; Brown; Cornell; Maryland; Vanderbilt and Virginia...I am not sure what GRE or TOEFL scores I am gonna get, as the application is still a year away.

    Anyway, my questions are: Do you think it's risky I am only applying to these 6 universities?--risky in the sense that I might NOT be accepted into any of them.

    In terms of academic reputation (particularly with regard to Econ, of course), how would you rank these universities?
