Jew,
Allow me to share with more soup recipes ( I like soup especially clear broth ones). My friend visited her family in Singapore and brought me this cook book " Southeast Asian Specialties". Mostly are recipes from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Clear Vegetable Soup (Cai Tang): 4 cups chicken broth 150 g. Chinese (Napa) cabbage, sliced 200 g. Chinese vegeatables (Bok choy or Pak Choy), sliced 1 carrot, peeled and sliced (1 inch thick) 3 scallions, sliced length wise 1 tbs soy sauce black pepper to taste
Bring chicken broth to a boil, add vegetables and scallions; return breifly to the boil. Season with soy sauce, salt and pepper, stir and take off. Serve while it's hot.
P.S. This book also has recipes for GangGong blachan and Ikan bilis goren (my favourties). She decided to bought me this book because of these 2 recipes. She also brought me a pack of blachan. Now, I can try to make GangGong blachan. Umh..yum..yum!
