ความคิดเห็นที่ 1 ง่ายๆ แบบคร่าวๆ นะคะ can (present) --> could (past) is/am/are able to (present) --> was/were able to (past) --> will be able to (future) can/could ไม่มีรูปที่ใช้ใน future tense เพราะฉะนั้น เราก็จะใช้ will be able to แทน can/could นอกจากใช้ในความหมายในเชิง ability แล้ว ยังใช้ในเชิง request ได้ด้วย  ซึ่ง could ก็จะดูสุภาพกว่าเล็กน้อย   บางคนก็จะยึดหลักว่า ถ้าเป็นการขอร้องให้ผู้อื่นทำอะไรให้ มักจะใช้ could หรือ would แต่ถ้าเป็นการขออนุญาตเพื่อตัวเองจะทำอะไรสักอย่าง ก็ใช้  can, could หรือ may เช่น  Could you please pass me the water?        Do you think you could lend me some money?        Would you mind if I leave work early today?       Can I borrow your book, please?       Could I use your phone, please?       May I come in? เพราะฉะนั้น ถ้าเห็น could ในรูปแบบ request, offer, permission, suggestion  ก็อย่าเพิ่งคิดว่าเป็น past tense เสมอไปนะคะ จากคุณ : พราว..พิสุทธิ์ - [ 14 ส.ค. 51 17:42:11 ]
