ได้รวบรวมข้อมูลที่น่าสนใจมาฝากผู้ใฝ่รู้ จากที่เคยอ่านพบมา ดังนี้....
1. "By leaps and bounds" (very rapidly/quickly = อย่างรวดเร็ว; ก้าวกระโดด)
Ex: The crops are growing by leaps and bounds.
(พืชผลกำลังโตวันโตคืน)
Ex: Company’s revenue is increasing by leaps and bounds.
(รายได้ของบริษัทเติบโตอย่างก้าวกระโดด)
2. "A quantum leap" = ความคืบหน้า หรือความก้าวหน้าแบบต้องตะลึง
Ex: The cancer treatment is a quantum leap in a medical area.
(การรักษาโรคมะเร็งได้นั้น เป็นความสำเร็จที่ใหญ่หลวงในวงการแพทย์)
Ex: Staying aboard for one year, I can realize a quantum leap in my English.
(ไปอยู่เมืองนอกมา 1 ปี ภาษาอังกฤษของฉันก้าวหน้าไปมากเลย)
3. “To come a long way" (to make great progress)
Ex: My English has come a long way since I practice listening to English music.
(ภาษาอังกฤษของฉันพัฒนาไปมากเลย ตั้งแต่ฝึกฟังเพลงฝรั่ง)
Ex: Our company has come a long way after we introduced the computer system.
(บริษัทของเราก้าวหน้าไปมากเลย หลังจากเรานำระบบคอมพิวเตอร์มาใช้)
4. "Go a long way"
Ex: Hey! You are the manager of the department. You have gone a long way.
(นี่! แกได้เป็นถึงผู้จัดการแผนก แกมาไกลแล้วล่ะ)
