Have a look at these examples, might help
I am going to the meeting. Dave is going to the meeting too.
Notice 'I am' and 'Dave is'
>>I am going to the meeting, and so is Dave.
I did not go to the last meeting. Dave did not go to the last meeting either.
notice 'I did not' and 'Dave did not'
>>I did not go to the last meeting, and nor did Dave.
I work at X University. Dave works at X University as well.
Notice the verbs used
>> I work at X University and so does Dave.
I used to work at X University. Dave used to work at X University as well.
Notice the verbs used
>> I worked at X University and so did Dave.
