Some employers think that in the modern world academic qualifications for new employee are more important than experience and personal qualities. Is this a positive or a negative development?
As is commonly understood, academic qualifications are not enough for new employee as it is learning in the classroom not practicing in the real situation. More experience and personal skills are proven important for workplace. It is argued that, some employees who only good in academic are not positive for organization development. This will be shown by taking into account that experience will decrease some mistake of employees and personal qualities create the good technique useful for business.
Firstly, the working experience generated by working in the real situation for a while that would decrease or prevent some mistakes. For example, learning from work lead the worker can adapt some experiences to the new situation and these ability helpful when employee facing with new problem. This example clearly shows the academic studies could not solve the problem completely without working it before. From this, it can be concluded that experience is the application from the theory and important to the workplace.
Secondly, personal qualities are useful skill needed for organization. Taking personal skill is valuable for workplace. The common qualities can not compete with other people in the modern world. For instance, personal qualities such as leadership, thoughtful or intelligence can not share or transfer from one to another. It is individual ability which make person be different or remarkable and useful for business. It is obvious when looking at this example that organization could not develop by the academic only. Thus, individual skills should be into an account.
After analyzing the area of experience and skill, there id no doubt that it is negative development when some employers require only the academic outstanding. As has been shown, some experience, skill, leadership, thoughtful or creativities are the important key to success.
