This project introduces a design of an automated watering device that is capable of maintaining suitable moisture content in the soil for optimal plant growth. A sensor model SHT15 is used to measure the soil moisture content and transfer the information to a microcontroller, where the watering schedule and duration are computed based on predetermined criteria. The microcontroller, then, executes command to start a watering pump as per the intended schedule. The pump operation can also be manually overridden. Based on the test results, the microcontroller-based automated water device has demonstrated its ability to deliver the performance as per its design intents.
