It may be possible if I teach you. I know how to cram all the essential skills into your head, but whether or not your brain can retain all the data within such a short time is another matter.
I'll show you the amount of data that your brain has to store.
For improvement of listening comprehension, take a look at all the sounds in the English language:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English
^ From this chart, you'll have to learn sound discrimination at varying speed, rhythm and intonation.
In connected speech, the following situations occur:
1. sounds disappear; 2. sounds join together; 3. sounds change.
More info on this site:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/pron/features/connected.shtml
^ These skills help improve your listening comprehension, but learning them within 3 months is not a simple matter.
Now, let's have a look at ways of improving your reading comprehension skills.
First, you must remember that "almost every single English word changes its meaning each time it is written with a different collocation or sentence structure!"
We shall lay a bet on the chances of certain words coming up in the exam. Let's say 5,000 words. Have a look at them:
http://www.freevocabulary.com/
^ If you know all these 5,000 words, you are fairly safe. However, can you memorize all the collocations:
We're going to look at the word 'raise' in many different collocations: I'll also give you the Thai translations:
They come from this post: http://topicstock.pantip.com/library/topicstock/2011/01/K10134013/K10134013.html
raise your hand ยกมือขึ้น
raise ducks and pigs เลี้ยงเป็ดและหมู
raise crops ปลูกพืช
get a pay raise ได้เงินค่าจ้างเพิ่ม
raise an issue หยิบยกประเด็นขึ้นมา
raise the amount เพิ่มจำนวน
raise the standard ยกระดับมาตรฐาน
raise one's eyebrows "เลิกคิ้ว" หมายถึง "รู้สึกว่า (สิ่งที่เห็นนั้น) มันไม่เข้าท่า"
raise a smile ฝืนยิ้ม (เมื่อยามเศร้า)
raise money รวบรวมเงิน (เพื่อเอาไปใช้ประโยชน์อะไรบางอย่าง)
raise the roof ส่งเสียงดัง ตอนร้องเพลงหรือเฉลิมฉลอง
raise the spectre of something ทำให้หวาดหวั่นว่าอาจมีเหตุการณ์ที่น่ากลัวเกิดขึ้นในเร็วๆนี้
เช่น The violence has raised the spectre of civil war.
raise its (ugly) head (ปัญหา) โผล่มาให้เห็น (ซึ่งถึงคราวแล้วที่จะต้องแก้ไข)
เช่น Another problem then raised its ugly head.
I'll raise you 10,000 baht = เก 10,000 บาท (ใช้เวลาเล่นไพ่)
raise hell โวยวายด้วยความโกรธ หรือแค่ส่งเสียงหนวกหู
ให้ดูดีๆว่า 2 ประโยคนี้ แปลไม่เหมือนกัน I'll raise hell with whoever is responsible for this mess. (โวยวาย, ต่อว่าด้วยความโกรธ) The kids next door were raising hell last night. (ส่งเสียงหนวกหูรบกวนชาวบ้าน)
raise embargo ยกเลิกการห้าม (สินค้าเข้าออก)
^ To teach you how to tackle reading comprehension test, I'll have to force you to write all the said 5,000 words in different collocations with the aim of exhausting all the permutations of sentence structure types! Are you willing to work hard according to my instructions?
Oh, don't forget to learn the Greek and Latin roots. They help you memorize the meanings of many words. Have a look at them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Greek_and_Latin_roots_in_English
This is indeed a nasty cram course! Note taking with pen and paper isn't good enough. You'll need a good computer program for that. Somebody is teaching mindmapping for 16,000 baht/6 days. Exorbitant! I think she uses Mindmanager. Oh, this program sucks! I know other better computer programs for organizing thoughts and note taking.
If I offer this type of cram course to 10 persons for 3 months, will they retain 50% of everything that they have learnt from me? If not, they won't be able to obtain higher marks in their exam, and chances are that they will come back to me and demand for a full refund on their tuition fee...lol!
