Wisdom can bring about courage!
According to the Dao, fear is associated with the weakness of the water element, and the organs that belong to the water element are the urinary bladder and the kidneys. Through wisdom, you can practise qigong (breathing exercise) in order to strengthen the water element and the organs that belong to it. The accomplishment of qigong training brings about courage.
^ This is in theory. I'll show you the real application.
Application 1: You are facing an opponent, and your heart is beating too fast. You're now suffering from panic attack. Under this condition, you won't be able to fight. You should regulate your breath and send your blood from your head down to you toes, trying to relax completely. Doing so, you can slow down your heart beats and pick up the strength to fight.
Application 2: You see A and B fight. A kicks B, and B blocks it with his wrist. As a result, B fractures his wrist. Next, you have to fight A, and you are shit scared of him. To overcome fear and anxiety, you should use your wisdom. B fractures his wrist because he allows it to absorb the full impact of the kick. With this knowledge, you don't block the kick with your arm being static; instead, you turn your wrist and body around to deflect the kick away from you and stop it from generating its full impact--this tactic throws your opponent off balance. While your opponent is standing on one foot, off balance, he is so vulnerable that you can do many things to put him out for good.
