Statement of Purpose
When I studied masters degree majored in linguistics at .... university, faculty of arts, what I had learned helped me a lot to understand the language, especially English language. But I did not have opportunity to take course in teaching English. As I am an English teacher teaching M.6 students of ......school, I wish I could offer my students more effective ways. But I could not because I lack of teaching ability. I realize that teaching methods would be more useful for me and beneficial for my students. Therefore, my goal is to become a well qualified English teacher.
At present and in the future, English language learning has become more and more important for trend of internationalization. And in 2014, Asian will be ASEAN community. My students must be good at English for living in the competitive world. I believe that a very good student comes from very good teachers. In the past, they are weak in English and even encounter obstacles in learning English due to inappropriate teaching approaches I used.
The program provides courses that cover methods of teaching, evaluation, and materials development as well as engage in research method. I know my strength and weakness in teaching. If I have the opportunity to enter, I believe that the program offered will acquire the versatility needed to reach my full potential as an English teacher. It has long been my dream to be an excellent English teacher. I am not a prominent English teacher. I know that being an excellent English teacher and learning English take great patience and hard working.
Though learning and teaching English always take patience and need good strategies, motivation and an excellent instructor to help students overcome the difficulties of learning English, I am proud to conduct this important duty. I know that the program offered by the university will assist me to be an excellent instructor. And I am confident that I will match the high standards set by the lecturers
