About 250 years ago, Because of the insufficiency in China in that time, First group of Chinese merchants shipped to Thailand. They propagated the procedure to make China ware which we finally found that there is a little different from Thai pottery in the way they vanish whereas Thai’s Pottery was not done. This technique resulted in vast outcome of Thailand from international export of Thai pottery. Since then, Chinese merchants gradually immigrated to Thailand. After immigrated into Thailand, Some Chinese married with Thai but some married among Chinese and left many generations up until now. Therefore, Chinese culture becomes main belief for Thai- Chinese in each part of our life since Birth, 15-year-old celebration, marriage, religious ceremony etc,       According to the proportion of Chinese population in Thailand, which is about 14 percentages second largest adjacent to Tai, leading Chinese original cultures and traditions still exist in Thailand. ความคิดเห็นที่ 2       I was born in Chinese linage family. What I have seen is Chinese cultures have already dealt with my family. Most occasions in my life since birth. In case of babies who born by Caesarean, mother can choose the best birth day for their children by either consider from the child’s mom and dad Chinese astrology or birth day if possible, but normally the best day for birth are widely written in ever year by many professional Chinese teachers. Furthermore, during the nine months pregnancy, we believe that mother should not pierce hole, paint house, hurt animals, move sacred objects, built or repair objects in house, etc. otherwise the baby will not healthy, but I think these must be only “shrewd plan” which said to prevent mother from any accident that may hurt fetus. On their birth day, family’s relatives whose Chinese astrology does not match with babies’ are not supposed to meet them. When baby is 30-day-old, mother need to give red boiled eggs to family’s relative and friends to announce the news. The number of eggs depends on the sex of the child.       When Thai-Chinese children are 15 years old, is considered passages into adulthood they have to buy new clothes from head to toes in colorful or especially blue and visit their alive grandma and grandpa, respect their ancestor at the cemetery. This culture arranges at aged of 15 years old because this period of life is believed to be the most beautiful in physical, similar to a blooming flower and to wish for prosperous life. ความคิดเห็นที่ 3       The most important day that not only Chinese in Mainland but also in every part of   the world look forward to is New Year Day. Chinese New Year day are not involved in World New Year Day or Gregorian calendar instead it is reckoned by the lunar calendar which is based on lunar phase similar to Islamic Calendar. This is because Chinese give important to the moon.      On Chinese New Year day, Chinese in Thailand we normally get at least 2 days off which are independent from work. Although Chinese New Year is not legal holiday, some institutes or companies, where are in associated with Chinese or the owner are Chinese, have at least 2 days off. Because we do believe that we should not work on New Year day otherwise we are going to work hard for whole year. Rather than work, we wear new red clothes, which are believed to be auspicious color, before go to senior relative’s house to meet, eat, pray and the most special significant time for grandson is when thick red envelopes, which contain money, are in our hands. In that night at their own house, we prepare foods, fruits, and desserts to pay respect to sky and ground at the exact time that written in lunar calendar before set off firecracker. The loud sound of firecracker thought to chase away the mythical being call “Nian (年)” and to welcome the beginning of New Year. Lion dances shows are also available during Chinese New Year. ความคิดเห็นที่ 4 Some said, childhood is the happiest time in life and it passes so fast. However, life must go on. Human intuition normally trend to be better life. We want to make our life stable to boost prosperity. Not only Chinese, but also every nationality, we realize that marriage and have children can fulfill the word prosperity in their life.        Chinese marriage ceremony in Thailand is precisely adapted with Thai Traditional. We have 3 steps. Firstly, the groom and his parents come to pick up the bride. Inside the house, along the way to the bride’s room there will be many relatives and friends of bride (accept her parents) paring line up and holding gold or silver belt in their hand, which refer to gold door/ silver door, for blocking groom the way to bride’s bedroom. But the door will open when the groom give them red envelops. Second step is drink tea tradition. Bride and groom have to go to each other’s house to sever tea to their relatives. After severing each cup of tea the senior relative will give them red envelop, but for junior relatives bride and groom are passive and return junior by red envelops. Finally step occurs at night as party, by which invite all relatives and friends having dinner together. It is held usually as hospitality for those who have attended the wedding. There is one custom that guests have to know is not to wear black color except suit. This Chinese etiquette had induced Thai’s wedding ceremony. To be honest, the appropriate color of the clothes is what I accept because I think, color can express thing. Let’s imagine what if trees turn to black instead of green or sky turn into grey. Until the end when the entire ceremony is over, the bride tosses her bouquet over her shoulder to a group of all the single women present. Whoever catches it is supposed to be the next to get married.         Buddhism is main religious in Thailand; primarily Theravada Buddhism. Buddhism in Thailand has become integrated with folk beliefs such as ancestor worship as well as Chinese religions from the large Thai-Chinese population. Most Chinese in Thailand are also Buddhist but they are Mahayana. Even if these two major branches are different in the doctrine, they persist in the depth of heart of all Buddhists up until now. Chinese temples are easily found in Thailand. Thus, it is common for Theravada to go to pay respect or obeisance to Buddha in Maharayana temples. ความคิดเห็นที่ 6         Chinese life in Thailand that I have experienced likes the precious pictorial which contains the pictures of many parts in my life and I am not be able to depict them into words.   Yet, one thing I love most is Thai people. I think, I am so lucky to have been born in Thailand. Thailand gives us opportunities as equal as Tai or others do have. Every nationality or ethnics in Thailand have ever never been excluded from any matters such as educational, work, governmental, etc.          Last but not less, As I mentioned about the history about China ware and Thai pottery, Thai Pottery would not have been popular unless they have been accommodated by vanish technique from Chinese. This story shows us that different people different thinking, but for the blissful life we have to be in the middle, not too extreme and also not too loose, or Buddhists calls “The moderate practice” As same as Chinese traditional ceremony that have blended gracefully with Thai way of life. China is often considered the longest continuous civilization, with some historians marking 6000 B.C. as the dawn of Chinese civilization. It also has the world’s longest continuously used written language. So far, Chinese tradition still correlates with Chinese people with slightly changes for the splendid harmonious depend on period, geographic, folks, and original culture. Chinese culture emphasizes forbear. They believe and faiths in what have been done by their progenitor. It's a long and confusing fragment. Chinese culture therefore takes part in their life since birth until die. ^ their life (Whose life?  You must understand that the reader is already confused!) since birth until die ^ Can you see the lack of parallelism? For clearly explain about Chinese cultural tradition. ^ This is not a sentence.  The verb 'explain' has no subject. I would be better explain in another  aspect which is not as Chinese in Mainland but as Chinese in Thailand because I am able to describe from what I have experienced and comparing how much changes have been between Chinese in Mainland and in Thailand. ^ If your writing is so weak, you should try to avoid long sentences. I would be better explain... ^ It sounds unnatural. Try "I had better explain..." or "It is better to explain..." ....................................................................... ความคิดเห็นที่ 10 ขอเรียน ท่าน จขกท. ว่าอ่านแล้วก็อดคิดไม่ได้ว่าจุดประสงค์ของการเขียนคืออะไร ขอเรียนตามตรงว่าผมอ่านแล้ว "งง" งานเขียนข้างต้นเป็นการเขียนที่ไม่มีเป้าประสงค์ อีกทั้งปราศจากซึ่งใจความสำคัญที่ผู้เขียนต้องการสื่อสารให้ผู้อ่านทราบ (อย่างน้อยสำหรับผู้อ่านอย่างผมไม่สามารถจับใจความได้เลย หากให้เปรียบ ลองคิดถึงเสียงซ่า ๆ ของทีวีตอนไม่มีสัญญาณดูนะครับ) ทั้งนี้ ผมว่าปัญหาที่ทำให้งานเขียนของ จขกท. อ่านไม่รู้เรื่องไม่ได้เกิดจากทักษะภาษาอังกฤษที่ไม่ดีพอ หากแต่เป็นทักษะการเขียนเรียงความอีกทั้งทักษะการเรียบเรียงความคิดที่อาจไม่ได้มีโอกาสฝึกฝนอย่างเพียงพอ ดังนั้น ถ้า จขกท. มีเวลา ผมขอแนะนำให้ลองใช้ภาษาไทยร่างดู แล้วค่อยพยายามเชื่อมความคิดต่างๆ ดูนะครับ เมื่อได้ร่างงานเขียนที่พอใจแล้วค่อยลองใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเขียนดูครับ จขกท. อาจจะได้งานเขียนที่อ่านแล้วลื่นไหลอีกทั้งสามารถสื่อสารประเด็นที่ จขกท. ต้องการสื่อได้อย่างครบถ้วนและมีประสิทธิภาพ ถ้าถามผมเกี่ยวกับการแก้ ผมว่าอย่าแก้เลยครับ เขียนอะไรที่กระชับและมีเป้าประสงค์ให้ได้ก่อนจะดีกว่าครับ ต้องขออภัยท่าน จขกท. มา ณ ที่นี้ด้วย หากความคิดเห็นผมรุนแรงเกินไปครับ จากคุณ : Peking Man เขียนเมื่อ : 18 พ.ย. 54 21:53:44
