ความคิดเห็นที่ 1 ต้องบอกว่า การใช้ while นั้น ที่ถูกต้องจริงๆ มักจะถูกจัดอยู่ใน Past Con't ค่ะ สำหรับเหตุการณืที่เกิดขึ้พร้อมๆ กัน เช่น He cooked his dinner while she was brushing her teeth. หมายความว่า เขากำลัง ทำกับข้าวอยู่ ขณะเดียวกัน เธอก็กำลังแปรงฟันอยู่นั่นเอง แต่มักจะนำเอาเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดก่อน และมีเวลาที่นานกว่า เขียนเป็น Past Simple แต่เอาเหตุการณ์ที่เข้ามาแทรก หรือ/และ เกิดในเวลาเดียวกัน (อาจจะสั้นกว่า) เป็น Past Con't ตามหลัง while. ในปย.ที่น้องเขียนนี้ อาจจะใช้ คำว่า meanwhile มาใช้ก็จะดีกว่าค่ะ He is cooking dinner. ความคิดเห็นที่ 2 A lot of Thais seem to lay down many complicated rules about what you can or cannot do with tenses.  However, when I properly refine my google search I almost always manage to find that 'The impossible becomes quite possible!'.   In fact, I am now in possession of two books written by a famous linguist.  One of them is 2000 pages long; it's about tenses. The other one is as long as the first one; it's about conditionals.  I browsed through both of them for a while and decided to give up.  I don't want to read them.  I don't want to go crazy!  I prefer google when I'm in doubt.
