It is another form of Argumentative Essay, really.
To write an augmentative essay, you have to have an opinion about something and argue for it.
What opinions do you form after reading the story?
For example;
Writing an augmentative essay on Edgar Allan Poe
1. Choose a position. You can not be in the middle. 2. List reasons why you feel the way you do. 3. Give details to explain those reasons you have chosen. 4. Organize. Save your best argument for last. The last reason is the one most readers will remember.
Edgar Allan Poe:
Crazy, alcoholic, and on drugs
Not crazy, misunderstood, very imaginative.
That's all I know.
