According to the ancient astrological text, the Book of Thaksa, the alphabets making up a person's name should be chosen for their auspiciousness and to avoid inauspicious ones. Which of the alphabets are auspicious or inauspicious vary according to the day of the week one was born on, for example, certain groups of alphabets would be auspicious for those born on Mondays but may be inauspicious for those born on other days. The alphabets are grouped together with others of the same property within the same birthday. Here are the groupings.
บริวาร (Boriwan) = Family, friends, followers อายุ (Ayu) = Health, wellness เดช (Det) = Power, success, advancement, promotion ศรี (Si) Virtuousness, propitiousness, happiness, wisdom, fortune มูละ (Mula) = Wealth, property, security อุตสาหะ (Utsaha) = Industriousness, good education, good business, good job มนตรี (Montri) Patrons, supporters, helpers, protectors, well-wishers กาลกิณี (Kalakini) = Obstacles, bad luck, troubles, loss, disasters, carelessness, enemies
For an auspicious name, we should exclude any alphabets within the Kalakini group and include as many auspicious alphabets from the other groups as possible.
