If you are very good at English, you should not attempt to work as an English teacher under the Thai education system.
Reasons:
1. You have to go through all the bureaucratic red tape to get the teaching license. 2. You earn meager incomes. 3. You have a very slim chance of improving your English further under a monotonous and unstimulating working environment.
I strongly advise you to go and get your Bachelor's Degree in English. However, you should bear in mind that four years of study and the degree don't necessarily guarantee that you will attain high level of proficiency in English. To acquire higher proficiency in English, you should get a job in a foreign company or an international organization and constantly read a lot of textbooks on English studies that are produced by famous overseas publishers. When your English is absolutely flawlessly perfect you can quit your full-time job to teach English in your own home; or if you have a lot of money you can open a tutorial school. In doing so you can live a brighter and more blissful life.
Cold hard facts: A person with excellent command of English earns about 5 times what an English teacher under the Thai education system earns. If someone turns around and tells you that he is quite happy to sacrifice himself by working as an English teacher under the Thai education system for insultingly low salary, he's in fact talking sour grapes.
