ความคิดเห็นที่ 2 Totally depending on the context. Not all words can be interchangeable. I adjusted (altered: changed) the clock to summertime.  You wouldn't use 'adapt' here, would you? You can adjust your underwear quite easily; you can't readily adapt it. You can adjust a time schedule by making a few changes, but that's not an adaptation.
