Well, I've been practicing yoga for a year now. At the begining my body was quite stiff too.
The major point for yoga posture is doing the best you can which it might not be good as you want it to be. And no competition in the class, try not to compare yourself with other since everybody comes from different background. Like some of my friends used to learn dancing before then they can do some posture quite well.
