Talk about how I deal with the type 1 people. I used to work with people who didn't like changes. Change itself could be anything that can be changed such as believe, idea, technology, policy, procedure to name but a few. Well, I think how to handle changes helps us in understand the people of type 1. There're only 3 general reactions they do to response to the change: refuse, ignor and accept. However, I will focus only the type 1 people who refuse changing.
The truth is we can't just ignore them. They could be our boss, colleagues, friends and even family. In conversations toward the type 1, you can't say that their ideas are wrong, stupid, absurd or outdated. Tell them why the newer thing is better. It could be process improvement or lower investment. Make your point clear with facts, case examples and analysis reports.
With factual information, success stories and well-thought ideas. The type 1 has nothing to do but accept, eventually. By using this scheme, contradiction could be avoided. Anyway, this concept might apply in only perfect situation. In practical, well, I'm waiting for more replies and tips from the poster.
