ความคิดเห็นที่ 4 หนังสือพิมพ์ Bangkok Post หน้า Classified ครับ มีรับเรื่อยๆ สาขาทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพจะมีรับตลอด (หมอ/พยาบาล รับตลอด โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่ม public health / IC ... มีรับเภสัชฯ บ้าง Med Tech บ้าง) ถ้าอยากทำงานที่ ESCAP .. ผมเห็นในเว็บมีประกาศเรื่อยๆ นะครับ แต่หลายครั้งก็ประกาศลง Bangkok Post ด้วย จขกท. จบสาขาไหนมาครับ? ขอแบ่งปันประสบการณ์นิดนึงนะครับ ในฐานะที่น่าจะจบสาขาใกล้ๆ กัน ผมจบชีววิทยา แล้วต่อโทด้านระบาดวิทยาครับ ตอนนี้ทำงานเป็นผู้ช่วยวิจัยอยู่มหาวิทยาลัยที่ภาคใต้ กะว่าจะเก็บประสบการณ์สัก 2-3 ปี แล้วค่อยหาทางขยับขยายไปที่อื่นต่อครับ เรื่อง personal contact มีผลเหมือนกันครับ ช่วงที่ผมเรียนโทอยู่ ผมได้งานเป็นลูกจ้างชั่วคราว (สัญญา 6 เดือน) ในหน่วยงานหนึ่งของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เข้าไปได้ไม่กี่วัน ก็มีพี่ที่รู้จักกันคนหนึ่ง (ไม่ใช่เจ้าหน้าที่ในกระทรวงฯ นะครับ) แนะนำงานที่องค์การระหว่างประเทศแห่งหนึ่งให้ (แนะนำแกมบังคับนิดๆ) และให้ email เจ้าหน้าที่ของเขามา ผมส่ง resume ไป แล้วพี่เจ้าหน้าที่คนนั้นก็โทรมาสัมภาษณ์เบื้องต้นทางโทรศัพท์ แต่ผมรู้สึกไม่ค่อยสบายใจที่จะผิดสัญญาจ้างลูกจ้างชั่วคราวกับหน่วยงานราชการไทย เลยปฏิเสธไปครับ มีรุ่นน้องอีกคน จบ ป.ตรี biomed science ที่มหิดลอินเตอร์ฯ เรียน ป.โท ไปได้ปีนึง รุ่นพี่ชวนไปทำงา่นที่สำนักปลัดกระทรวง สธ. ทำงานโปรเจ็คของ WHO เรื่องสถิติโรคอะไรสักอย่าง (จำไม่ได้แล้ว) ... เขาบอกผมว่า ตอนที่โปรเจ็คจะเสร็จแล้วเขาจะกลับมาเรียนต่อ เจ้าหน้าที่ทางโน้นก็ชวนเขาไปทำงานต่อนะครับ ถ้าภาษาอังกฤษดีอยู่แล้ว และไม่รีบร้อนอะไรมาก แนะนำให้ทำแบบรุ่นน้องผมคนนี้ครับ แล้วสักพักจะมีการชวนๆ กันไปเอง ส่วนของผมเอง ตอนนี้กำลังเตรียมตัวไปเข้าโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเจ้าหน้าที่กับทางบังกลาเทศเป็นเวลา 10 เดือน เริ่มต้นเดือน พ.ค. นี้นะครับ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเก็บประสบการณ์ 2-3 ปี ในย่อหน้าที่สองครับ :-D อ้อ ขอแนะนำให้เรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสหรือสเปนไว้ด้วยนะครับ น่าจะเป็นประโยชน์อย่างมาก อย่างน้อยก็เพิ่มความคล่องให้ตัวเราเองครับ จากคุณ : ฮอนโจ๊ะ เขียนเมื่อ : 13 ก.พ. 54 15:20:59

ความคิดเห็นที่ 6 @Comment #5 You're too kind and I am completely flattered.  I am no guru, actually.  I'm just another regular guy doing a regular job, but it's just that my line of work differs a bit from the corporate sector.  I have not made it to an international organization yet, so it might even be best to take all my words of advice with a grain of salt, or two. To further respond to the question posted by the Original Poster (จขกท.), if you have a background in health sciences, perhaps it would be best to make your profile suit that of the organizations in your field of work (WHO, UNICEF, WFP or international NGOs such as MSF, Oxfam, World Vision, IRC, Family Health International) than to try to tailor for something that is not directly related to your background and existing experience such as UNICEF (education/culture-based).   BTW, khun Singh, are you also interested in IO / INGO type of work? จากคุณ : ฮอนโจ๊ะ เขียนเมื่อ : 14 ก.พ. 54 11:30:26

I'm holding a BSc Pharm with hospital experience ka. After that I did my degree in marketing communication then got recruited by a medical-oriented media company. Running campaigns, creating patient literatures, etc. If possible, I'm looking for communication-related (campaigning and what not) positions rather than the clinical ones but I'm willing to try! Thanks for your tips on extra language as well. Would you recommend French over Spanish or the other way around? I did have some basic knowledge of French but since it's very, very basic, I could easily start Spanish. ความคิดเห็นที่ 8 If you have the background in Pharm, good english, and some German, I would recommend you to apply for a post at GTZ or other similar organisations. Try to get a couple years of experience from the I-NGO, then you will have a better chance to get a post in the UN system organisation. Bangkok Post is a place to look for an advert in Thailand. Search "UN Job" on google, then you will see. However, there will be a bit hard to find the long term employment. Initially, you will get 6 month -1 year contract basis. ความคิดเห็นที่ 9 @Comment 7 - If I were you, I would pick French over Spanish as French is an official language of the WHO.  Try looking up some announcements on the "Vacancy" section of the WHO website to see what I'm talking about.  The tips from Rajchadamnern on #8 are also very valid, so it might be helpful to take the INGO -> UN path as well.
