monkey business is a good illustration of how life in IB can be.
if you can cope with the long hours, maybe 100 hours a week during very very busy periods, then it can be an exciting and rewarding career in terms of both monetary returns and challenge, glamour, etc. that said, IB in thailand is not as hardcore as in the USA because there's not that many deals. however, when the deal comes, often times you would fine that the resources of thai IB's might not match that of international houses, i.e. in extreme examples you may have to do the drafting of the prospectus by yourself without the legal counsel's aide and that, my friend, is downright nightmarish.
in terms of the 'stress', i'd say that at junior levels (vp down), there isn't much. you do not have the kind of responsibilities that can jeopardise a deal. you just have to stick to your job and try to do your best at whatever hard labour you'd have to endure. as said in 'monkey business', before being successful, you'd have to pay your dues.
