80 years of Dow: Good support in pink.
Regression line in black would give support at around 10,000. Note the two previous periods of long term sideways movement from around 1935 to 1951 and again in the sixties and seventies. Could we be in for another such period? See Dick Davis, "The Dick Davis Dividend". He refers to a theory of revolving cycles of sideways for 18 years, advancing for 18 years, then sideways again. No reasons are given for the claim and Dick Davis doesn't endorse the claim. Nor do I. However, one can envisage (envision for those in America) such a movement on this chart, especially if the support in pink breaks.
