Market Commentary
Marginally improving overnight, gold opened the day at
1225.75/1226.75, and progressed to a high of 1226.50/1227.50 on fundbidding.
Following robust U.S. industrial production figures, the metal
dipped to a low of 1223.00/1224.00 as investors increased risky
behaviour, before gently proceeding to a close of 1226.00/1227.00.
Technical Commentary
Gold stabilized today but recorded its third consecutive day of a new
intraday highs and lows. The metal's three week uptrend remains in
play with support coming in at 1205.60. This uptrend was challenged by
the late June downtrend heading into last Thursday's trading, however
gold's upside breach has reestablished some upside momentum as
1250 remains a logical short term target.
