Maybe, just maybe, Reid might need to ponder changing his philosophy. The Eagles solely rely on McNabb. He carries the whole team on his shoulders and needs to perform at the high level in almost every game. He's more like an improvisor.
I personally think the team should draft a stud RB to share workload with him. Then, put Westbrook in the slot to create mismatch. Westbrook will eat those LBs or CBs nearly 80% out of the time. In other words, rely more on a running game. Just like the way the Saints are utilizing McAllister and Bush now.
Although the offensive line is built primarily for pass blocking, there must be some adjustments made to compensate run blocking. I know it's not easy to do so, talent and technique wise, but it should work out for the team in the long run. Runyun is up the age and they will need to find his replacement soon. So, just draft a Tackle who also can run block because I don't think they will move Justice to the right side, after Runyan is gone.
McNabb is turning 30 and his recovery will need more time than those younger guys. Just don't rush himself to come back. If the Redskins are going to beat the Eagles, I'd rather see them beat the Eagles with healthy McNabb on the team.
