Captain John Terry is out as he is still recovering from the head injury he sustained in the Carling Cup final. Defender Khalid Boulahrouz comes back after being out for the last three weeks with a dislocated shoulder. Jon Obi Mikel, serving a domestic suspension, is available for this one.
Porto
Coach Jesualdo Ferreira gave Brazilian striker Adriano a start against Braga at he weekend, in place of Helder Postiga, who was a substitute. Ferreira almost always sends his team out in a 4-3-3 formation, and against Chelsea Adriano is expected to retain his place at the expense of Postiga, with Ricardo Quaresma and Lisandro Lopez on either side. Adriano has scored in his last three league games.
Full-back Slovakian Marek Cech missed the game because of sickness and was replaced by defender Jose Bosingwa, who was himself withdrawn with a thigh injury early in the second half. That will keep him out of the Chelsea game, but Cech will take his place. González was also taken off injured midway through the second half but travels to London. Pepe (Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira) and Bruno Alves are likely to form the solid centre-back pairing for a team that boast the tightest defence in the SuperLiga.
PREDICTION
Porto's best chance in this tie was at home two weeks. Thery emerged unbeaten from that first leg, but Chelsea left with an away goal, and now have the huge advantage of playing at home, where they are exceptionally strong, as well as the confidence of nine-match unbeaten run and the incentive of a quarter-final appearance in the competition they yearn win. It will be difficult for Porto to stop them. Chelsea 2-0 Porto.
