Roy Hodgson is looking for a vital win
Manchester City skipper Richard Dunne could miss out after suffering a hamstring injury against Portsmouth.
Micah Richards (knee) and Nedum Onuoha (shoulder) are already sidelined but Sun Jihai could return after missing the Pompey game through illness.
Fulham, who could be relegated if they do not win, are without Jari Litmanen after he sustained an ear injury.
Keeper Antti Niemi is back in training after a shoulder injury but Kasey Keller will continue in goal.

Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson:
"It was very important for the club, fans and the players as well, that we beat Portsmouth because if we'd have lost our last game I think that the dreams of Europe would have gone.
"If you don't have a target for the last games and the sun comes out, then everything becomes heavy, but now it's just to go on fighting and try to beat Fulham.
"I hope that we can play good football in the last three games and that we can take many points."
Fulham boss Roy Hodsgon:
"I've had a short, intensive spell here. It will be a major disappointment if we go down but I don't know if it will be the worst in a 32-year career.
"I didn't come to see the team go down, so it would be a big blow to me. I don't think the team has done that badly over the last four months.
"We've had bad luck at times but I think the club has great potential and if we survive in the Premiership we'll definitely be stronger next season."

The 50th major competitive meeting of Manchester City and Fulham, could see the Londoners relegated, after a seven-season stay in the Premier League.
If Fulham fail to win, and both Reading and Bolton take all three points at Wigan and Tottenham respectively, Roy Hodgson will suffer an unfamiliar relegation as a club manager. Alternatively defeat for the visitors to Eastlands, coupled with victory for two of Bolton, Reading and Birmingham, will see the west Londoners down.
City are aiming for a highest ever Premier League finish. They're currently matching the previous best of eighth; two points behind seventh placed Portsmouth. They're also sixth points short of Everton in the Uefa Cup qualifying fifth spot, three behind Aston Villa in the race for the Intertoto Cup spot, and well placed in the Fair Play league. But the two remaining fixtures after this are both away from home.
City are enjoying their best ever equivalent points return in a Premier League season; Fulham, their worst.
The Citizens have won three times as many league games as the Cottagers (15 to five), and are hoping to complete three victories on the spin for the first time in six months.
Fulham ended a Premier League record run of 33 away matches without victory, with a 0-2 triumph over Reading at the Madejski Stadium on 12 April. Now they're looking for their first back-to-back away wins in four and a half years.
Manchester City have scored three goals in each of their last three meetings with Fulham. They did the double over the Cottagers last season, and shared six goals with them in this season's reverse fixture.
