Boss previews South China tie
Sven-Goran Eriksson has looked ahead to the Blues second and final game on their Asian tour as they take on a South China Invitational XI in Hong Kong later today.
Speaking at the now commonplace ‘shopping mall press conference’ Sven said: “First of all think you for the invitation and we are very happy to be here in Hong Kong.”
Eriksson was also asked about the state of the game in Asia and added: “I think Asian football is getting better and better and it’s important that Juventus and many Premier League teams such as ourselves to come here and play football. That can only help to benefit football in Asia.”
The Manager, Darius Vassell and Martin Petrov joined Juventus pair David Trezeguet, Claudio Ranieri and representatives from South China at the APM Centre to promote the night of football where the Italian giants take on South China following the Blues’ match.
Of the match Sven continued: “I can’t tell you the tactics for the game! But we try to win the game – it’s our last game for the season. We are sure you will see two good football matches.
“We’ve trained at the stadium and it was very good so we are hoping there will be many there to see the game.”
The City team for the game at 6pm local time is as follows:
Schmeichel, Logan, Jihai(c), Williamson, Garrido, Etuhu, Hamann, Geovanni, Petrov, Caicedo, Vassell.
Subs: Martin, Trippier, McGivern, Mee, Tutte, Bojinov, D.Ball.
