A: No, I have not considered that.
Q: You lost this match, but compared to last year you seem to feel better.
A: Yes. I'm happy to be in the semi. This is my major goal.
I consider every match to be important and wanted to win this match too, but he played well especially in the 3rd set. I have some unforced errors.
But most importantly I'm in the semi now. I have got what I most wanted in this tournament. Maybe not completely. It has not ended yet. I think I have the quality to go further
Q: For a set and half you maintain high standards, how would you comment on overall performance?
A: I only look for the positive things. I know that I played well in the 1st set and first half of 2nd set and got some break chances, but he played well when he saved the break points and served well.
Overally speaking I'm satisfied. I don't mean I want to lose the match, every loss there must be some disappointment. But now I only concentrate on the semi, that's most important.
Q: Last year you loved to joke around and had lots of fun, but this year you seemed much more serious. Are you doing this consciously? Can you explain?
A: No. Not too much change. Maybe this year you don't pay too much attention to me. You didn't see me during practice. We still have lots of fun during practice.
But that isn't everything of me. I guess everybody is different. Some are always serious and treat it as a task. I respect these people.
I'm like that too. When I'm on court I'll try my best to focus on the competition. After that I would enjoy my life.
Q: We noticed that there's a beautiful lady sitting next to your coach tonight. Is she your girlfriend? We never heard you introduce her publicly.
A: She's 2006 Miss Universe.
Q: If Murray beats Federer tomorrow, then Federer will be not appearing in the semi for the first time. Do you think this implies new generation is breaking through?
A: This is good for the sport having new and young players coming up. Undoubtedly Federer is one of the bests in the world but this year he is not at peak.
It is great challenge for him to recover during the 1st half of the year, but more and more players can now join the top fights. Murray, Tsonga, Del Potro are all of the young generation. Next year would be interesting.
Q: This week it seems that people are paying less attention to you than to Federer, Nadal who is not here and even to Murray. Is it that you prefer not to be noticed?
A: Oh yes. You know this could be a good thing. When everybody expects you to win, you get more pressure. Less attention means I am more relaxed in competitions. This is important because you can play you best.
Q: Today Tsonga played well as more of the crowds were supporting him. Is it because he's now out that he had no pressure?
A: Yes. As I have said, when I played the 3rd RR match last year I was in the same situation as Tsonga. I was relaxed and just wished to play my best.
But this is not easy. The competition is between the 8 best players and every match is important. You have to try everything to win.
I won't blame them for supporting Tsonga more. He's a high-quality player and with great personality. He deserved the win.
