Fabio 1, Wags 0: England boss refuses to fly wives or girlfriends to the World Cup... and bans them from the squad hotel

They've probably planned their outfits and started their beauty regimes already.
If so, the WAGs of the England team are in for a disappointment.
At the next World Cup they will be kept firmly in the background, on the orders of the team's disciplinarian manager Fabio Capello.
He has issued strict instructions in the hope that his players' wives and girlfriends will not steal the show as they did in Baden-Baden in 2006.
On that occasion, their shopping trips, wild nights out and revealing outfits were blamed for turning the event into a media circus.
For the 2010 competition in South Africa, Capello has banned WAGs from staying in the squad's hotel and will allow them to see their husbands only at certain times.
There will also be no official Football Association 'family travel package', as there was last time, when Sven-Goran Eriksson was manager. Any of the women going to South Africa will have to make their own flight and hotel arrangements.
Speaking after the team achieved qualification for the tournament, Capello warned: 'The players will be able to meet their wives, friends, the girls, but for one day after the game. We are in South Africa to play, it is not a holiday.'
Capello insisted there would be no exceptions to the rule. He said: 'No, absolutely not, please. If they do not want to come for the day, then they should stay home.'
In 2006, the England base in Germany was overrun with paparazzi chasing shots of WAGs such as Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham, Carly Zucker, Coleen McLoughlin, Alex Curran and the then girlfriend of Frank Lampard, Elen Rives.
England defender Rio Ferdinand later complained that it had become a 'circus' which had overshadowed the side's efforts in the tournament.
The team were knocked out on penalties in the quarter finals.
This time around, England secured a place in the World Cup finals after thrashing Croatia 5-1 on Wednesday night.
The FA would not confirm where the team will be staying, but it is expected to be the new f20million Bafokeng Sports Campus set in 60 hectares of bush in the country's North West Province.
The 82-room hotel has been designed according to FA specifications and includes an electric perimeter fence, regular armed patrols and a high-tech, round-theclock monitoring system.
South Africa Tourism predicts that up to 100,000 England fans will also travel to the country for the competition, which runs from June 11 to July 11 next year.
However, the FA urged any supporters travelling to join the official England supporters club, which is capped at 30,000 members.
Hundreds of travel packages, which start from f2,500, had been sold before the Croatia game and travel agents expect thousands more to be snapped up over the next few weeks.
The draw which will decide England's group stage opponents, as well as the times and locations of their matches, will not be made until December 4.
The distances between the stadiums are vast and people who travel independently can expect a challenging trip.
Foreign Office travel advice for South Africa warns of high levels of crime in the country, particularly in Johannesburg. But it also said that most cases of crime occur in the townships and in areas away from the main tourist destinations.
