Player Ratings: Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion จาก Gunner Central
Wojciech Szczesny - Solid performance tonight from the young stopper, Im starting to think that he should be third choice rather than Vito Mannone. Although he did look a bit wobbly when dealing with crosses, he filled me with confidence throughout, making two fantastic saves. 7
Kerrea Gilbert - Failed to push on up the flanks throughout the match and seemed afraid to risk getting caught out. Tackled well but rarely pushed forward, and did not combine well at all with Gilles Sunu on the right flank. 5.5
Philippe Senderos - Outdone all too often in the air for a man his size, although he did make up for it with an otherwise uncompromising performance. Senderos, playing his first Arsenal game in over a year, was confident and assured in every move he made, winning almost every tackle he contested. 7.5
Mikael Silvestre - His experience shone through this evening as he guided Arsenals young guns to victory. He was always on hand to help out the midfield if they got in to trouble, and was assured in defence. Never really tested, but did everything asked of him. 7
Kieran Gibbs - Combined well with Traore on the left and looked menacing when he bombed up the touchline with obvious intent. WBA didnt offer much on their right flank so there was little for Gibbs to do defensively, but much like Silvestre he dealt with everything that was asked. 7
Aaron Ramsey - Man of the match in my opinion. He started a bit quiet but emerged as a force to be reckoned with as the game grew on, but showed vision and composure well beyond his years to marshall the midfield for most of the match. He was the metronome for Arsenal today, orchestrating his teams confident performance. 8.5
Francis Coquelin - Think Flamini, but very, very raw. Coquelin wasnt afraid to get stuck in and was flying into challenges left, right and centre. He could polish his technique and first touch a bit, but he has the desire and temperament to complement the likes of Wilshere and Ramsey in years to come. Ran out of steam in the latter stages, but still put in a solid shift. 7
Jack Wilshere - Hes so good its unbelievable. So good, in fact, that the opposition must hack him down at the first available opportunity. Once young Jack develops he will learn to avoid these situations and well see his full potential, but until then well have to live with displays like last nights. His quality was evident, and he was a constant threat, but there was no end product as he was being hauled to the turf repeatedly. On the odd occasion he managed to beat his man all ends up, and then hed be so far ahead of everyone hed have nobody to give the ball off to. 8
Gilles Sunu - Awkward was the best word to describe Sunus performance last night. He was isolated on the flank, and did very little to get himself into a suitable position. He was completely ineffective, and on the odd occasion even nullified the rare attacking advances of Kerrea Gilbert. 5
Sanchez Watt - Despite his goal, Watts performance was nothing special. The goal was taken well, but that was about the only positive that can come out of an otherwise mediocre performance. He was pushed off the ball very easily, and mis-controlled a number of relatively simple passes. 5.5
Armand Traore - Played in an advanced wide role just as Id anticipated, and was pretty quiet on the left flank. His crossing was good and his pace is scintillating, but I felt he could have got involved a bit more. 7
SUBSTITUTES Randall - 7.5 Vela - 8 Barazite - 7
