Miguel Angel Moya - 5 - While Moya was not great, you have to take into account the defense that was in front of him. The defenders allowed Getafe to move the ball from one side of the box to the other for the first goal, Mathieu headed the ball straight to Manu for the second, and no goalkeeper would have saved Pedro Leon's free kick.
Miguel Brito - 4.5 - Caught badly out of position for the first goal. He was at the midfield line while Joaquin played left back. Did nothing on offense.
Alexis Ruano - 5 - Didn't have a great game, but he wasn't bad either. The wide positions were the weak spot for Valencia tonight.
Hedwiges Maduro - 5 - Same as Alexis.
Jeremy Mathieu - 3 - Awful. Pedro Leon made him look like a Segunda Division player. Shocking stuff from the Frenchman. Asier del Horno will get his chance to play this year if Mathieu keeps up horrid form like this. He was known in France for his accurate passing and crossing, but he has yet to show it in la Liga.
Carlos Marchena - 5 - Made his usual Marchena challenges. When he was subbed off for Zigic, the flood gates really opened up for Getafe.
Ever Banega - 7 - Did well offensively and defensively. Displayed his usual clinical passing. He didn't have much to work with tonight to be honest.
Joaquin Sanchez - 7 - Joaquin and Ever were by far VCF's most creative players. Joaquin made some good runs, assisted on Villa's goal, and had a couple of good crosses. Perhaps if Emery had started in a 4-4-2 with Villa and Zigic up front, some of Joaquin's crosses would have been converted into goals.
David Silva - 5.5 - Had the pass that lead to Joaquin's assist for Villa, but was quiet after that. With Banega taking the creative responsibility away from Silva, he looked somewhat lost on the pitch.
Juan Mata - 5 - Had a couple of good crosses, but was pushed inside by a constantly attacking Mathieu, and was invisible for large parts of the match.
David Villa - 6.5 - Got Valencia's goal. Tried everything he could, but he had little quality service.
Substitutes
Pablo Hernandez - 4.5 - He should have come on, but not for Joaquin. Nowhere near as good as Joaquin in this match.
Bruno Saltor - 5 - Had a coulpe tackles. Nothing special.
Nikola Zigic - 6 - Won a few headers and gave the Getafe defense something to worry about.
