Casillas 3.5 Beaten at his near post twice and added an excruciating howler to that ignominious showing on the night. Was not as alert as he should have been in the final half hour.
Sergio Ramos 4 Only looked competent on the occasions he crossed the half-way line. Gave the ball away at least half a dozen times and was guilty of slackness in his play throughout.
Pepe 5 Was not troubled at all until Ambrosini's through-ball and failed the test of composure as Milan pressed for their late winner.
Albiol 4.5 Like his defensive partner, had an easy job to do for 60 odd minutes but could not come up with the goods when stretched. Threw in a sloppy booking for good measure.
Marcelo 5 Simply not up to the standard as a defender; He could not come to grips with Pato all evening and lost his man crucially at the death. For all his attacking prowess, he cannot be relied upon in defence.
Lass 8 Ever efficient; rarely lost the ball and rarely lost possession. Set the tempo of the Madrid play and in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, it is he and not Kaka who is the top man at the Bernabeu.
Xabi Alonso 6.5 Real Madrid's pivot in midfield was always willing to take hold of the ball and use it. Could have contributed more going forward.
Granero 7 Understated in his contributions, but no less effective. Took responsibility on break-outs and made his presence felt at the business end with a series of efforts on goal.
Kaka 6 Summary of his Real Madrid career - flattered to deceive. Made some decent runs and had some efforts on target but is a long way from the match-winner he was at San Siro.
Raul 8.5 Was involved in every aspect of Madrid's positive play; scored one through sharpness and remained thus throughout. Prompted Drenthe's equaliser with a smart corner and could have won the game with a late strike.
Benzema 6.5 Decent hold-up play and made good use of the ball on the flanks but is not yet a consistent goal threat.
Subs
Drenthe 7 Does not get an easy ride from the Bernabeu faithful but shut them up with a goal tonight.
AC Milan
Dida 5.5 Partially redeemed himself after a calamitous error with a string of fine saves. Will not be pleased to have been beaten on his near post for Drenthe's equaliser though.
Oddo 6 Gave the side decent width from attacking positions and defended adequately.
Thiago Silva 6 Initially nervous but grew into his surroundings. Should have scored the winner but his header was ruled out incorrectly.
Nesta 7.5 The veteran is back to his best. Showed great anticipation and positioning sense throughout and was a calm influence in the Rossoneri ranks.
Zambrotta 5.5 Not the marauding presence he once was but efficient nonetheless. Had some difficulty with Benzema, particularly in the first half.
Ambrosini 6 Provided the through-ball for Pato's first but was largely overrun in midfield.
Pirlo 7 Did not make his presence felt until the final third of the game but lit the touchpaper on proceedings with an exquisite goal.
Seedorf 7.5 Finishing was wayward, however, his deliveries were second to none. Prompted the late winner through his vision and awareness.
Ronaldinho 6 Peripheral; showed only glimpses of both talent and interest.
Pato 8 A mature performance; had the measure of Marcelo and plugged away as his side struggled for chances. He eventually came up with the goods.
Inzaghi 4 Utterly anonymous.
