บทสัมพลาดโนเล่ค่ะ แปะไว้ก่อนเด๋วไปอ่านที่ทำงาน ^^''
Q. Does it feel different coming in thedefending champion, or are you coming injust as one of the rest of them? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, that's a taskthat I still need to achieve, defending the title. And I haven't done it yet in my career. So let's see if I'm able to do it this week. I'm really excited about the tournament because I've been playing well the last three years. Winning the title last year, you know, with good players, good group of players that have played. And, of course, this year it makes the tournament even stronger. So I just hope that I'll perform my best and be able to perform as well as I did last year.
Q. What is your reaction to Roger's news? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I can't really judge because I don't know what's going on. He must have a good reason to pull out. But still I think even without him it's going to be a great tournament for the people to come and see.
Q. When you have a tournament like this that looks after the players so well, you stay in a hotel like this, does it make it easier to play? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, it gives you more motivation, of course. When you finish the practice you know you're going to come back to the hotel, go into the spa and just on the beach. You know, the first time I came to this hotel, actually, it's funny because I remember it all the time. When I stepped into the hotel, I felt embarrassed? Why? Because it was two years ago. I left my stuff, my things in the room. I was about to go for practice, and I dressed up as a regular tennis player, you know. As soon as I came out it was around 5:00, 6:00 p.m., I see people dressed up in the dresses, jeans smart, and I was in a shorts and sleeveless shirt. Everybody was looking at me in a strange way. But, for sure, this is the best hotel that I've been in in my entire career. You know, we basically live in hotels, and live in the travel bags and the planes. So for us it's quite important to have good accommodations and good facilities where we can relax after long day of practices and matches.
Q. What is the best thing about the hotel? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I think actually the architecture. The look of the hotel is just incredible. I think it's an amazing idea from whoever came up with the idea to build up the hotel this way, and everything inside, just from the restaurants, the rooms. Every rooms has two floors. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. Really, I'm just positively oriented.
Q. You're going to get a nice seven-star hotel for Belgrade? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, we're going to need more oil in Serbia in order to do that (laughing).
Q. Does Roger's absence clearlyimprove your chances of obtaining the title? You won it last year in his absence. Are you thinking you can win it again in his absence? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Oh, well, I sincerely hope so that I can perform on the highest possible level that I did last year here. So far this year I think I was playing quite well. So just the priority is to maintain this level and everything else will come at the time. You know, I just want to take it step by step and really not think about the possible opponents in the later stages of the tournament. I mean, Andy Murray's playing, Marin Cilic, Davydenko, Tsonga, all these players are Top 5, Top 10 in the world. Even though Federer is not playing, it's going to be extremely difficult for all of us to go all the way through. I expect a big crowd and just exciting week of tennis.
Q. How tricky is this first quarter of the year? You're outdoors in Australia, then you're indoors, and then you're outdoors again. Andy chose not to play indoors. Roger didn't play indoors as well. Is that tough to go indoors and then come outdoors again? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, there are certain commitments that you make prior to your trip to the tournament. You usually commit to the tournament six to ten months before, you know, it's organized. So that was my case in Rotterdam. I didn't get many matches this year in Australia. So I wanted to get couple more matches under my belt. You know, I wasn't thinking of the priority of winning the tournament. It wasn't really so important. But what was more important was just to feel more comfortable on the match play. I got four matches there, three matches there, so it was okay. It's difficult because that is the way it is for all of us. That's the way the schedule looks like these days. You have to be ready to get used to the different conditions, different surfaces, atmosphere or indoors outdoors on a regular basis. You know, one day that's all you have. But I got here on Wednesday. Had a lot of practices. Got ready enough. Before I go to Indian Wells, I'm going to get indoors on clay again playing Davis Cup.
Q. Did you just play a matchwith Davydenko? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Match, no, we didn't.
Q. Was it just practicing? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Yeah, it was just practicing. There were no umpires.
Q. Have you thought much about the benefits of being world No. 2? You've been No. 3, No. 4 for three years basically. And you always knew at the Grand Slams you would be seeded to play and you'd have to beat Federer and Nadal, for example. Now you're No. 2. Do you see that as a benefit? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: There are certain benefits. That's no doubt. I'm very pleased with my achievements so far of my career. For three years I'm ending up No. 3 in the world. I think I deserved it. I had a fantastic end of the season in 2009, and that's probably one of the reasons that I got really close to No. 2 of the world. And now Iwill try to maintain that spot as long as I can and eventually go on a step further. I was saying my lifetime goal is to be the best in the world. I'm working towards that. But the competition is, I think, rising day after day. There is a bigger group of the players that are able to win major titles next to Federer and Nadal. And I think that's a good thing for the sport. Makes our sport more interesting, attracts more media attention, sponsor attention, public attention in general.
Q. (Indiscernible)? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: If you want names: Murray, Roddick, Tsonga, Del Potro. All these guys are at the top. Davydenko, Cilic, they're all in it. I think in my opinion they're all in top of their shape. Because of quality of the players that are playing in a men's top of the men's tennis is enormous at the moment. That's what pulls -- we pull each other. We make each other improve every day. So I think the quality of tennis is great these days.
Q. How's the coaching situation going? You had Todd in Australia. How's it working out? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: So far I'm happy with the way we organized our appearance where I spent time with Todd, and I spent time with Marian. Let's see how it's going to workout in the future. But they are both fathers and husbands, and they have big families and they have to dedicate their family as well. It's not easy to travel 10 or 11 out of 12 months a year. So Todd is going to do probably what's closer to his home in the States before US Open and now Indian Wells and Miami. And Marian's going to do the clay court season. Then they're going to combine probably for US Open and Wimbledon eventually or Roland Garros. So it's really no pressure from any side. It's just the way we organize.
Q. Do they talk much on the telephone? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: They do. They are in touch on a regular basis. Of course, we are all a team. And we are working towards my improvement of course. I was working with Todd on some elements of my game like serve-and-volley, net play. I feel some improvement in that areas of my game. It's a process that takes time, so I have to be patient.
