Pedro León negotiating with Chelsea
Who is Pedro León? He is a kid playing in second division Spanish side Murcia. A midfielder with a lot of promise and a 5 million buy-out clause. And now, apparently, he`s in negotiations with Chelsea.
The negotiations, according to the press, began several weeks ago, and Murcia and Chelsea are currently haggling over the price tag. Presumably Chelsea are looking for a discount on that 5 million buyout clause.
The player`s agent, Pablo García Quilón, is said to be in negotiations with Chelsea, and the player himself went to meet his prospective future employers in Valencia last week when Chelsea played there. Since that moment, the player has not played for Murcia, which has fuelled speculation.
Pedro León is said to be the pearl of Murcia`s youth academy, and his season at the modest club has been spectacular. The player himself has never hidden the fact that he could leave for a big club.
Murcia are looking for promotion to the Primera next season, currently lying third. If they go up, León`s 8 goals out of the club`s 50 will have helped. He`s a midfielder who has played 27 of Murcia`s 33 games so far. That is, despite being only 20 years old.
For the record, he`s 1m 83, weighs 72 kg, and his full name (Pedro León Sánchez Gil) will hve the shirt name manufacturers rubbing their hands with glee. Should he sign for Chelsea.
