Gary Neville has revealed he is trying to convince Manchester United legend Paul Scholes to sign a new deal.
Scholes, 36, has yet to decide if he will sign a new one-year deal at the club, but his former United and England team-mate believes he still has the ability to play at the top level.
Ryan Giggs recently agreed to prolong his Old Trafford career by a further 12 months and again has been crucial for United this term.
Neville, though, brought his playing days to an abrupt end in February after a long battle with injuries.
Entertaining
However, like many other United fans, he is keen for the veteran duo to keep entertaining for as long as possible.
"I speak to Ryan and Paul all the time," Neville told the Daily Star Sunday. "I trust them and we've become incredibly close.
"And I am the one who keeps begging them to go for at least one more year. They are still two of the best players around.
"They are both key men for the team and are on a different level to anybody else in the game."
