Safin To Attempt Reality TV
After failing in his attempt to climb one of the world's highest mountains, Marat Safin has a new challenge ahead of him: to find a wife. Safin has just signed on to play "the bachelor" in Russia's version of the hit ABC show "The Bachelor." The former No. 1 player said he was delighted to be asked, but not that surprised when producers came to him. "I mean, I'm handsome, single, rich and fit. I'm an obvious choice," he said. But is he sure he's ready to make a commitment in front of millions of viewers? "We'll see," he said. "I guess it depends on the fans—I mean, bachelorettes." In another coup, the show's producers were able to get Sharmil Tarpischev to serve as host of the show and Safin's adviser.
